Innomar SES-2000 Projects in Australia

Acoustic Imaging’s SES-2000 parametric subbottom profiler (SBP) has been deployed on a variety of projects throughout Australia. Project objectives include determining the depth of pipeline burial across a number of rivers in Queensland, measuring sand unit thickness for anchorage purposes, assessing the dredge cut surface depth beneath a slurry layer in a mineral sands mine, and mapping pond depths where algal mats disrupt accurate depth picks from a normal single beam echo sounder.

The dual frequency capabilities of the SES-2000 (with tunable lower frequency from 4-15 kHz) combined with the logging of full time-series data enable a number of post-processing capabilities including image enhancement (stacking, smoothing, filtering, AGC, etc.) and reflector digitising (surface and subsurface). The relatively small transducer size and low power consumption allow deployment on small survey platforms (down to the size of an inflatible or dinghy).
