The challenging and dynamic marine industry attracts a special type of person - adventurous, passionate and innovative. Acoustic Imaging appreciates these characteristics of ocean scientists and engineers because we share them.
Founded in 1997 by geophysicist, Dr Douglas Bergersen, the mandate of Acoustic Imaging has always been to offer innovative solutions to marine survey projects. Acoustic Imaging introduced one of the first digital data acquisition systems to the O&G industry in Australia (a Triton ISIS system) and worked extensively to push the boundaries of digital data processing and presentation (e.g., digital mosaics of backscatter data, contact/target capture and reporting from waterfall windows). We’ve continued our pioneering efforts through selective alignment with key industry manufacturers who offer state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions. A result of our investment is a suite of highly portable tools designed for high resolution coastal mapping projects.
As active users of the products we own and recommend, we know their strengths and weaknesses. This practical information is transferred to our clients as part of our consulting services and through our desire to ensure our clients succeed in their survey objectives.
Acoustic Imaging takes pride in its "green" credentials. Located in the beautiful Noosa hinterland 90 minutes north of Brisbane, our office operates off 100% solar generated power stored in batteries on-site. Our water is harvested from nature's rain and stored in tanks. The use of renewable resources extends to our 20m custom-designed test tank used for sonar system analysis and testing prior to any lease. Our employees actively participate in caring for and harvesting the company garden for fruits, herbs, and vegetables, all of which are 100% organic. We strive to provide a healthy, self-sustaining environment to contemplate and discover innovative solutions to the unique challenges associated with the ocean industry.
