Acoustic Imaging RAN LADS Training August 2016

Between August 1-4, 2016 Acoustic Imaging provided a training course to the RAN LADS group covering various Fledermaus and ArcGIS operations associated with their Lidar workflow. This course was in support of the Fugro LADS system used by the RAN, and is an annual event.

Course instructors were Ms Shereen Sharma, a GSI specialist and Cat A Surveyor, and Dr Douglas Bergersen, a geophysicist and certified Fledermaus trainer. The content was adapted to match the workflow used by the RAN LADS group and extended from Mission Planning to Data Cleaning to Product Delivery.

“We always enjoy providing this course to the RAN LADS group” Dr Bergersen stated. “We continue to modify the content to keep abreast of operational changes implemented either by Fugro or the RAN. This aligns with our philosophy for training courses in that general content can be tailored to address specific organisational needs. Exposing students to capabilities outside their specific workflow is useful because it promotes innovative thinking, which in turn may result in a more optimised workflow.”
